I am a physician and am aware that I'm legally obligated to report suspected cases of child abuse, however, are there any legal statutes requring me to report elder abuse- specifically to Michigan would be appreciated. Thanks.
I don't know about any legal statutes requiring it in ANY state, but ethically, I think if you suspect that anyone is being abused, regardless of age, race, sex, creed or color, I think you have an obligation to report it.
