Can I be held in contempt court for not asking the courts permition 6yrs ago. My mom is dying her granddaugter is now fileing a suit aginst me for anything and everything you can think of Ihave not kept any one from seeing her or knowing anything about her they all have just chose to not go and see my mom till now there is no money left of hers my other two sisters made sure of that before I had to put her in a facility. everything has been fine up to about a year ago and now that my mom doesnt have long this granddaughter is stepping in and wanting guadianship of my mom and have me charged with contempt.becase Imoved my mother to a different facility 6yrs ago and changed Furneral Homes and didnt ask the court to do this I didnt know this was reqiered for the court to have to tell me what Icould and couldnt do. Im I in trouble?

Law Requiring Physicians to Report Elder Abuse?

I am a physician and am aware that I'm legally obligated to report suspected cases of child abuse, however, are there any legal statutes requring me to report elder abuse- specifically to Michigan would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know about any legal statutes requiring it in ANY state, but ethically, I think if you suspect that anyone is being abused, regardless of age, race, sex, creed or color, I think you have an obligation to report it.
